Can I get a Student Loan to study with this School?
You cannot access a student loan to study with this School. The School offers a “pay as you go” system. See the School Brochure for more information on this.
How do I pay for the Course Components?
Students pay for the Course Components as they complete them. For example with the Study Manuals, students complete a certain number of assignments and they are sent to the School with an Associated Payment. For On Site Components students pay for these at the end of the Component. Further details on this is contained in the School Brochure and once students are enrolled, they are supplied with a Student Handbook which contains details on payment for the various Course Components.
I live a considerable distance from Hamilton, so will the costs for completing the Course be higher for me?
Yes, you will need to finance travel and accommodation for on site components of the Course.
Can I start the Course at any time?
Once your Application has been approved, you can start the Course. This can take place at any time during the year. For more information on this see the School Brochure.
Can I complete the Course in less than 4 Years?
Some students do complete the Course sooner than 4 years. The maximum time for the Course is 4 years, however if students commit sufficient time to study, and their budgets are able to support this, the Course Components can be completed sooner. Some students are granted RPL which means they have less Course Components to complete. Students also need to plan their Course carefully to take advantage of the scheduled On Site Components.
Do I need to attend On Site Courses in Hamilton?
Yes, at this stage all of the On Site Courses / Components are held in Hamilton. If you live outside of Hamilton, you will need to make travel and accommodation arrangements for these. The Annual Timetable details dates for all On Site Components each year.
Do I get ongoing support from the School after Graduation?
Yes, the School provides ongoing help and support after graduation. The School is committed to assisting graduates to continue to develop and to ensure that they are working appropriately with individual clients.
Once I enroll with the School, am I committed to completing the Course?
No, at any stage students can withdraw from the Course. As students “pay as they go”, they are only paying for Components already completed and are not paying ahead. See the School Brochure for withdrawal procedures.
Do students get support and assistance during the Distance Components of the Course?
Yes, the School maintains regular contact with students and students are encouraged to access help and advice from the School at any time.
I don’t have any academic qualifications or background, does this disadvantage me?
This doesn’t have to be a disadvantage provided that students are prepared to put in the time and effort necessary to study at this level. This Course requires students to complete a large amount of work and study, however the School provides as much support and help as required by individual students. The Course is structured so that students are acquiring knowledge and understanding as they progress through the Course.
I don’t know if I have the right skills professionally and personally at the moment to work in a clinic as a therapist, is this a problem?
No this is not a problem. The Course is structured so that students are provided with the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills necessary, and along with professional development, there are many opportunities for personal development throughout the Course.
Can anyone join the School?
Not necessarily. The School has an enrolment procedure and there is no guarantee of acceptance into the School. See the School Brochure for more information on Entry Criteria. What the School is looking for are people who have a desire to help people to lead more happy and successful lives and who have a genuine desire to become clinical hypnotherapists. The School is mindful that those students who are accepted into the School have a good likelihood of being able to complete the Course.
I already have qualifications in other areas, can I apply for RPL?
Upon Application, if students wish to apply for RPL they need to supply the relevant information for this. See the School Brochure for more information on this. RPL is only applied for some of the theory components of the Course.
